A lot of well-known songs have fairly basic drumming. A large part of the coolness of this one is the composition of the remix itself. Which works very well. Watching a drummer often gives something the appearance of being "cooler", and besides it gives something to make a video out of, rather than staring at a blank screen listening to the music. Regardless of the level of difficulty of this song's drumming, we all know Travis' skills anyway.

Um...soul doesn't have to be black guys singing the blues, fyi. Barker certainly does put soul into drumming. He's a drummer for life. He takes it very seriously and puts everything into it.

i play drums...i practice with multiple bands for 4 days out of the week. Lessons at a drum studio on Sundays. And no...it's not hard haha
I'm not some guy just talking out of his ass. This beat and song for that matter are extremely basic.
Don't get me wrong. I think he has a great show, and can get the crowd going crazy. Entertainment wise there aren't many better. He's kind of a like a modern Buddy Rich without the skill.
