What is fascinating about this is that ES quite possibly attended this recording session. There is a famous picture of them sitting together at about this time.

Nobody sings this Giordano's eccelentissima aria as Maria Callas, the best opera interpreter ever. Piango, piango everytime I hear this. I even cried oceans when I heard this aria in a film, Philadelphia, but it's not the same as listening to it like here with all the chatting over La mamma morta.

This is superb. Unfortunate Callas ruined her voice later on. It is a pity that she could not have lived longer and preserved her voice. Many artists give their greatest performances in their 50s, when the great Maria unfortunately left us.
