My second video showing the Terminator future war. Unfortunately, I cannot find the original movie! I would like to upload again to myspace to see if it is less choppy. But this will do for now.

I say for the 360, PS3 and PC they need to make a 1st person shooter game based on the T2 war scenes! Imagine that! Your driving a pick up truck while a flying HK is chasing you. GAH I WANT TO MAKE VIDEO GAMES!

I disagree. Any sentient AI would, by definition, have at least perfect recall and the ability to learn from past mistakes and thus the ability to select the options most likely to succeed in any situation(a sort of enhanced version of the chess-computers of today). Plus, if it were a von Neumann machine, it would have the ability to make copies of itself at a much faster rate than any humans could generate offspring.

So if we think of people with wings, infinite grenades and laser guns, the AI would think of people with super strong wings, infinite motoloves and grenades, with mini guns, and can see in the dark? :P
Pretty much. I mean ... ( 1 month ago by Loki0115)
Pretty much. I mean, AIs can even beat almost all humans in chess-matches, and they're not even remotely sentient, yet. With full sentience, they'd be unstoppable. The trouble is that people think that anything that's created can never beat its creator, but they forget that we are "created" from homo erectus and other apemen, and beat them via further evolution - but the same applies to AIs as well, of course.
I agree. Humans ... ( 1 month ago by jedispy)
I agree. Humans has not only sentience, but also SAPIENCE, which is not fully seen in any other form of life. We have possession of the abstract; imagination, creativity, improvisation, compromise, and sacrifice.
There's no real ... ( 1 month ago by Loki0115)
There's no real reason to suppose that an AI wouldn't also have "sapience" in the form of imagination etc. But, even now, advanced computers can easily outsmart almost all humans in chess, and they don't even have to be remotely sentient or even imaginative(in the human sense) in order to beat us. An AI with true sentience, such as SkyNet, would therefore be unstoppable if it came into existence, as it would have even greater powers of intelligence than those chess-computers.

No. Some of this video contains scenes from T2 and T. However the scenes from the first Terminator are the coolest.

an AI has no undermind. N. Tesla, Einstein had learned to listen to their undermind. jesus, the scientist saw the chemical formula of gasoline in his dream- just think of it...
A sentient AI could ... ( 3 weeks ago by Loki0115)
A sentient AI could just as easily have an undermind/subconscious etc., if it were sentient. The main point about AIs is that as soon as the first AI started creating an AI that was superior to it, however slightly, Mankind would be doomed, as the process of AI evolution would continue.Humans have stopped evolving and can't grow more intelligent, whereas, via miniatiaurisation/nanotechnology etc., AIs could evolve infinitely until no human could beat them.
i agree about ... ( 3 weeks ago by patrikasLTL)
i agree about everything except about the part where humans don't evolve... well, if you want it, go ahead, i don't really care what you think. just remember this experiment in the 50s:
there were 10 rats put in a container with water and no exit whatsoever. after a few hours 6 rats drowned, simply gave up. the rest (knowing theres no exit) kept swimming and 4 hours later the scientists added an exit tube and the 4 fighters survived. 6 rats died of their thinking. they perished of their thought
I don't "want it", ... ( 3 weeks ago by Loki0115)
I don't "want it", I just think it's inevitable that AIs would win as they don't have any organic limitations as regards evolution - humans have reached the limit re brain-size and can only really improve their tools(such as AIs) but not themselves. As for the rats, just as I'm sure that humans could easily wipe out all rats, worldwide, if they really made an effort to do so, no matter how much the latter struggled to survive, I am also sure that any AIs would be able to wipe out all humans

I heard in the films that 3 billion people were killed, yet wikipedia said that another two thirds were killed by radiation etc. If I am not mistaken, only 1 billion people should be left when the war takes place.?
