Zakk Wylde versus Slash
Zakk Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wiedlandt on January 14, 1967 in Bayonne, New Jersey) is a lead guitarist, pianist, singer and songwriter, best known for his role as founder of Black Label Society and guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. Wylde was lead guitarist and vocalist in Pride & Glory, who released one self-titled album in 1994 before disbanding. As a solo artist he released the critically acclaimed Book of Shadows in 1996. Wylde's playing is characterised by his liberal use of pinch harmonics and the pentatonic scale.
Black Label Society is a heavy metal band formed by Zakk Wylde, with 9 albums released to date.
Pride and Glory is a side project for Zakk Wylde. He is best known as the guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne's band. Zakk made his first album, Pride & Glory. Following that, he released Book of Shadows. After this, he formed the Black Label Society, his current band. The album Pride and Glory has more of a southern rock sound than Zakk Wylde's other albums incorporating banjos and mandolins.
The album is almost a complete departure from the music Zakk usually plays. Zakk's songwriting skills come to the forefront on the album, and a lot of Ozzy's later work can be heard in this album. The songs are very dynamic, and have a very loose feel to them, namely "Losin' Your Mind" and "Troubled Wine." Zakk also incorporated his southern-drawl voice to complement the southern sound on the whole album.
The band was originally named Lynyrd Skynhead and included James Lomenzo and Greg D'Angelo alongside Wylde. In 1994 D'Angelo was replaced by drummer Brian Tichy, this was at the same time that the band changed their name to Pride & Glory, and later that year they released their self-titled debut - and only - album on Geffen Records. In November 1994 Lomenzo left after their tour of Japan, 3 days before the beginning of their US Tour. Zakk managed to find a replacement for James in his long time friend J.D. The band played their last show on December 10th 1994 in Los Angeles in which Slash, guitarist of popular rock band Guns N' Roses (also signed to Geffen Records) played the songs Voodoo Chile and Red House with the band.
Saul Hudson (born July 23, 1965), more widely known as Slash, is an English/American guitarist best known as the former lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses and as the current lead guitarist of Velvet Revolver. Known for wearing an accentuated top hat, he places high in numerous polls and is regarded by some as one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Guns N' Roses is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. The band has sold an estimated 90 million albums worldwide,[3] including 39 million in the United States.[4] Their 1987 major label debut, Appetite for Destruction, sold over 26 million copies worldwide and reached #1 in the United States.[5]
The band's musical style, onstage presence and bad boy rock image helped usher in a new era of the dominant hard rock and heavy metal scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. While glam metal was the leading genre in record sales, video charts and radio airplay, Guns N' Roses offered a grittier, more traditional take on rock music, and won many fans who admired their apparent authenticity.
The band enjoyed worldwide success from 1988 to 1993, but clashing personalities of different band members led to the end of the core lineup. Today, frontman Axl Rose is the only original member left in the current Guns N' Roses line-up, having served as lead singer for twenty-two years and a pianist since 1990.
Velvet Revolver (abbreviated to VR) is a hard rock supergroup with three former members of Guns N' Roses — Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum (who also played with rock bands Hawk and The Cult) — plus Scott Weiland, the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, and Dave Kushner of the 80s punk band Wasted Youth.
Slash's Snakepit was a rock band formed by then-Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash in 1994. Fellow Guns N' Roses members Matt Sorum (drums), Gilby Clarke (rhythm guitar) were amoung the original members. On bass was Mike Inez of Alice in Chains and Eric Dover (who had previously played guitar for Jellyfish) sang lead vocals.

If you are comapring them based on how complicated they play, both Zakk and slash are amatures.
Besides that, comparing artists and saying one is better than the other is an insult to the grey cells.
slash doesnt.
zakk on the other side is that typical headbanger, he plays wilder and faster, he also dosnt care if he misses a note or two (witch he sometimes do)...
you cant really compare them...
